Mermaid Party - Decorating Ideas She Will Love

Mermaid Party Ideas
Mermaid Party Ideas

I think mermaids are one of those things we don't ever really grow out of wanting to be.  (I recently had my curly hair colored a shade of plum red...coincidence that I've been making mermaid decorations like crazy?  Maybe...)

Whether you're looking for ideas for a mermaid party for a 5 year old's birthday or a 45 year old's mermaid bachelorette...her are some fun decorations that she'll love!

Mermaid Tails...

They are EVERYWHERE.  Who could resist those cute mermaid tail blankets?  I used one to drape over the table, and placed cupcakes around it.  (Near sweet might not be the best ideas for younger children, since that might result in one sticky mermaid tail - a better place is on a gift table for a child's party) - Just about anywhere it makes a lovely party accent.

All those blankets inspired my Mermaid Tails Confetti and Garland:

Every party needs a little confetti has become "my phrase".  I can't seem to have enough of it around (intentionally or unintentionally) as recently our black lab's ears had a little 'dusting' after a recent party I styled.  Use some around desserts,  tied to favor packaging, or taped to balloon tails!

I love the little copper colored flecks in the paper that I used to make these, and the hues of teal and green are beautiful and classic.

CONFETTI POPPERS:

A fun way to celebrate  at a party is to have confetti poppers - whether you use them for a big "SURPRISE" at the beggining of the party, or to send off guest with happy cheer as favors, poppers do the trick.

Tissue Tassel Garlands:

A giant mermaid balloon is so much fun. Use with lots of white balloons as bubbles!

Shells:

Use them everywhere!  I made these cute little wands and they can be put at each place setting or in treat bags!
