Here are some beautiful and festive ideas to host a tropical luau party – indoors or out! Ours got rained on, so you can see from the photos, we did our summer entertaining inside. Everything from tropical photo booth props, and mango iced tea to gold pineapples – ideas to inspire your tropical-themed event!
We recently had a special guest in our home – and when we said our ‘until next times’ I wanted it to be extra special. A tropical luau theme was the way to go. Of course, the first time it had rained in a week, was the day of the Luau…but I had lots of extra decor on hand to dress up the dining room and make it special. Here are some tips you can use whether you throw your Luau inside or out. Don’t be dismayed if it rains on a party you plan for outside. You can always move back the furniture and have a grand time.
Make sure that you have a special drink. This time I chose two – barrel-shaped HUGS with fun flower straws (for adults and kids alike, as my children are all young adults, but they JUMPED at the chance to have a HUG drink first!) and Mango iced tea!

Tropical Luau Drinks!

(Psst, if you want to get some of these straws, you can order them from my shop www.enfete.etsy.com )
My second special drink was Mango Iced Tea (get the recipe HERE)

Use leaves – I even cut some from my tropical-ish house plants (part of the change to inside!) and my large elephant ears on my deck- to add some extra green.

I used some leaf cut outs I made to accent the balloon decor, and the table (aren’t those forks too cute – I found them that morning on the Target sale shelf!)

I used some brightly colored cloth napkins – I love to use cloth napkins for a party – they always seem to make it more cozy and special (if you need some, check out the lovely shop 90West on Etsy; these are napkins I had, but she has so many fun patterns!)
Gold Pineapples!
Summer Entertaining Photo Booth !
Everything you need for a tropical luau photo booth is in the shop. Floral backdrops and tropical props – set up a corner of the yard or a corner of your room to have a fun photo booth for your guests to enjoy. (Don’t forget to tag EnFete on Instagram ( @enfeteparty) so I can see all your lovely photos! )

And the GRASS SKIRT…I picked this one up at Hobby Lobby on sale in May. It was the perfect way to surround my serving table.

Don’t forget the cupcakes – simple cupcakes are always cuter with fun toppers – these Gold Pineapple toppers are from my shop as well.

I hope you have as much fun decorating for your Luau party as I did for mine. Please share your experiences below! Follow me on Instagram for more fun pictures from my parties! PARTY LIKE A PINEAPPLE!
